After God redirected Eric from Engineering & Music and Annette from Education, they moved to St. Louis for training at Covenant Seminary. Now many years, 3 churches, and 4 children later the Ashley’s have many sweet stories from fruitful time following the Lord in pastoral ministry.
And now this exciting new chapter in their story - church planting in West Nashville along the Charlotte Corridor! They love living in Sylvan Park & the Nations & are excited about the work of renewal they see God doing in this area & their part to play!
The Ashley’s aren’t alone in this adventure. This work is one that we undertaking in dependence upon the Lord and by linking arms with many men & women each playing their part as we seek to embrace, embody, & extend God’s mission where we live, love, and labor.
Katie Woods, Director of Ministry Operations
Katie@parkschurchpca.com
Growing up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, Katie was raised by a faithful Catholic family. God brought Katie to Nashville in the summer of 2014, and was immediately introduced to having a true, personal relationship with the Lord.
The Lord has given Katie fruitful friendships, faithful mentors, and valuable growth opportunities in a city where she moved knowing no one. In late 2018, Katie met Jack and in just under three years (and two cross-country moves) later, they married in summer 2021 in downtown Nashville.
After having many jobs here in Nashville, both within the PCA and out, Katie is excited to help Parks Church grow in our mission of bringing a vision of the Kingdom to the Charlotte corridor of Nashville.
Scott Lain, Executive Director
Admin@parksChurchpca.com
A lifelong resident of Nashville, Scott grew up in the church and came to faith at an early age. He has served for as long as he can remember and has seen God’s faithfulness in action every step of the way. Working in children’s, youth, hospitality, administrative, benevolence, and small group ministries all helped prepare him to be part of the launch team for Parks in 2017. Starting as one of the initial corporate officers and now serving as a ruling elder, Scott was excited to take up the role of Executive Director of the Parks Church staff in 2025.
Scott lives in the Pegram area with his wife, Melissa, three sons in college, and one daughter in high school. They love being part of the Parks Church family and seeing God work in the Nations and West Nashville.
Melissa Lain, Director of Children’s Ministry
childrens@parkschurchpca.com
Melissa and her husband, Scott, are both lifelong residents of the Nashville area and have 3 sons in college and a daughter in high school. Melissa graduated from Wesleyan College in Macon, GA, with a double major in Psychology and Religious Studies. Prior to homeschooling her children full-time for the past 17+ years, she served a local church as the Director of Youth Ministries. The Lains were a part of the initial launch team for Parks Church and love serving the body of Christ together, witnessing daily God’s “never ending, never giving up, unbreaking, always and forever love.” (from Sally Lloyd-Jones’ The Jesus Storybook Bible)
For the past 15 years, Melissa has taught at their home school tutorial and served in the leadership of a local interdenominational discipleship ministry, serving as a preschool teacher, the Children and Youth Director, the Teaching Director for 7 years, and most recently as the High School teacher. It is her great joy to see children and students cultivate a rich, abiding relationship with Jesus. “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children [and by extension, the children at Parks Church!] are walking in the truth”. 3 John 1:4
Kyle Perrin, Director of Worship
worship@parkschurchpca.com
The Perrins moved to Nashville from Los Angeles in 2020, and are still shocked they were the only people to do so that entire year. Kyle spent 10 years in the music industry before transitioning to post-production audio and photography, which make up his full-time professional life as a freelancer. Kyle has also been in service as a musician and a music director in the church for over 15 years, which has led him to his current position within Parks Church PCA.
He and his wife, Amanda, and their two kids, Ellis and Eleanor, faithfully attend and serve at Parks and are grateful for the community it has given them. Their dog, Ranger, would also be in attendance if it weren't for abysmal social skills in public places. God continues to bless their family as well as Parks Church, and they are grateful for each and every person that the Lord has placed in their lives through this community.
