Nashville Tornado Relief

At the bottom of this note you'll find the most exhaustive list of resources we’ve found on how those affected by the storm can receive aid: from supplies, to food, to financial assistance, to housing, to legal advice.  Please share this with any you meet or know of that may be in need.

Long Term Help:  Our denomination locally is doing several things to try to set us up for longer-term care:

  • Fund raising goal - There is conversation about setting a fund-raising goal for our denominational churches in the area to go towards support for local churches that are centrally located to help long-term relief efforts but have damage or needs of their own.  The funds raised would also support a short-term paid coordinator for our denominational relief efforts locally (volunteer & project coordination, communication of needs, relational networking with local leaders).  If you or someone you know are interested in this position, let me know.

  • At some point, areas of disaster usually form some sort of "long-term care task force" to divide up areas or families with long-term needs and assign churches/partners to walk with these areas or families through rebuilding.  When that time comes, we hope to be part of that conversation and do our part to help.

Short Term Help: While we see what develops on a city-wide effort level, check back here for any news of specific families we can follow up with.

Here are a few sites with updated needs:

I have been so encouraged and inspired by your hearts for our neighbors affected by this storm and your commitment to want to offer ongoing support.
